Saugerties is more than just Jimmy Fallon's hometown...

As a Realtor in the Hudson Valley, I really think that Saugerties is one of the hottest and strongest markets right now.  Homes in Saugerties seem to sell much faster than other Hudson Valley towns, (median days on the market in Saugerties this past year was 146 days).  Living here in the Catskills for 13 years now, I have really seen Saugerties change a lot and FAST!

This is a great Huffington Post article that lists some really cool spots in Saugerties and being Jimmy Fallon’s childhood home.  A client of mine who is a big fan of Jimmy Fallon bought his childhood home on Overbaugh Street, (really cool seeing the sellers name “FALLON” on the listing)!

Here is a pretty funny video clip of Jimmy Fallon’s Saugerties High School teachers…

Two of my favorite spots in town to eat are Mirabella’s…

and Stella’s Station

Give me a call today and let me show you Saugerties today!

From Rio back to the Hudson Valley...

The Hudson Valley Real Estate market usually slows down during the middle of winter and it’s when I take my two month vacation each year to Rio De Janerio.  One sure sign that the market is changing is that last year and this year my properties really had a lot of previews and I even sold homes these past two winters!  It’s an exciting sign of a changing Ulster County Real Estate market!
I rent an apartment each year in Ipanema and have been going to Rio for the past 15 years.  I have a lot of very close friends there and it’s always great to get back and see everyone each year.  I am in Rio during Carnaval each year and even get to parade and compete with one of the major “samba schools”, Vila Isabel.
I have been back less than a week and already have clients to take out to see homes.  I let sellers know that the “buyers who are out looking during winter are the SERIOUS buyers”.  This was a brutal winter and buyers that were out looking were serious and put offers in on properties and Ulster County Real Estate did not “flat line” this year.
Here is one of my properties that has been shown a lot these past few weeks.  I think it’s a perfect Victorian for someone looking for a move right in home!
Well, NOW it’s SPRING and it’s when I get VERY busy, so please let me know what I can do for you.  Many thanks, and hope all is well.

Hudson Valley happenings and hot spots...

SO MUCH going on the the Hudson Valley right now!  It's really always such an exciting time to be selling real estate in the area because clients new to the area can always see that this is the right choice for them!
Just across the Hudson from my Town of Ulster home is the "Country Living fair" from Country Living magazine being held at The Dutchess County Fairgrounds this weekend...
Here is the link for tickets... Country Fair ticket info...link
Here is a GREAT article of some places the magazine picks for local eats, sleeping, and shops...
There are times selling Ulster County Real Estate where I somehow have a weekend OFF and get to some of our amazing annual music festivals.
One of the COOLEST music weekends is the Woodstock radio's WDST Mountain Jam festival on Hunter Mountain.  I usually try and get up the mountain for a day or people can go the whole weekend for music AND camping.
Not your thing?  Next weekend is the Clearwater Festival.  I live on the Hudson River and Pete Seegar is one of my local heroes for being the main reason the river is in the great shape it is today, (I swim in it all summer)!
The Clearwater Festival is a great way to hear some incredible music, AND learn some pretty cool things that may just change the way you live!
If you are traveling through Ulster County right now, you may hear something that sounds like a U.F.O. in a 50s sci-fi flick.  It's the 17 year hatching of the Cicadas!  I have them all over my house and really love hearing them.  They are creeping EVERYONE out, but they are harmless and only here for about six weeks.
Here is one from home...
(please stop reading now if you are not a bug person)
One hatching...
Ok, now back to selling Ulster County Real Estate for ME!

Summer in the Hudson Valley...(so many choices)!

So many times here when I'm not selling Ulster County Real Estate, I will have a weekend off and instead of leaving town, just stay here because we have so MANY things happening around HERE to do!  When I have clients who buy their own Ulster County Real Estate, I sometimes check in and let them know about a concert or festival I don't think they should miss.
I live just across the Hudson River from The "Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome".  It's a really cool place with vintage biplanes that put on shows and even sell tickets to go up and fly in one!  I worked for a lot of years as a mascot for WPDH radio station and have gone up in the planes a couple times in the Eagle costume!  I am pretty afraid of planes, but for some reason a biplane felt more safe and comfortable.  On most weekends in Summer, I can look up and see the planes flying or doing tricks over the Hudson.  Check them out at ...
Another cool way to enjoy the Hudson River is to get out on a boat!  I like to go out on the Rip Van Winkle that leaves Kingston's Rondout waterfront.  The boat sometimes goes past my home and I always hear how much fun people are having out there!  Sometimes when I am on the boat, I point out to people my piece of Hudson Valley Real estate as we sail by the house!
One really amazing outdoor sculpture park is Opus 40 in Saugerties.  It's an incredible blue stone sculpted work that is something you never forget.  Occasionally they have concerts there and you will find no other venue like this to enjoy.  It's an incredible story of one man's life work...
Want to cool off?  Here is a list of places in the Hudson Valley from Hudson valley magazine, (my favorite is Kingston Point Beach here in Kingston)...
Like trains?  There is no better way to take a ride and enjoy some breathtaking Hudson valley scenery!
Neet a place to stay while you are here having fun or looking at Ulster County Real Estate?  My two favorite places are...
A great lighthouse in Saugerties...
and the  1950s house Inn in Rosendale...(I have had clients stay there and they LOVED it)!
